About Us

Columbia Gorge CASA is a non-profit organization that recruits, trains, and supports volunteers who make a difference in the lives of children. CASA volunteers are assigned to the legal cases of children who have been physically and legally removed from their homes because of parental abuse or neglect.

CASA has been serving children in foster care in the Gorge since 1987.  Today, we are one of 22 CASA programs in Oregon and one of almost 1,000 programs nationwide.

In fiscal year 2018/2019, 55 CASA volunteers advocated on behalf of 127 children in Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman counties. Our vision is to help ALL of the abused children in foster care in these 3 rural counties, but currently we serve 80% of those children. Our challenge is to find the volunteersfinancial resources, commitment and compassion that will get us there.

We currently have a staff of 4, for a total of 2.65 FTE, and our FY18/19 budget was approximately $165,000.
